I had some trouble making the gauge when I was working in the round, so I re-wrote the pattern to work the front and back separately. I'm relatively new to knitting, so maybe this is something I should expect when working in the round. I love the pattern and can't wait to complete it.
These are very cute and my son loves them. I love that these are knit
in the round and will use up yarn left over from other projects. Great
pattern all around!

I love this pattern alot, but it does contain a special technique (attached i-cord on the 'Walkabout') that I had no idea how to do, the video on their web site was not very clear on my computer, and I couldn't find any other reference for. The good news is that Knitting at Knoon has put all of their knitting tutorials on dvd and Jimmy Beans also sells that--can't wait to get it so I can finish my scarf. I would still buy this pattern set--it is wonderful!
These are just an adorable bunch of animals. So far I've only worked on the Elephant. They're quick to work up, but they aren't for the beginner. I'm experienced with DPN's, but beginning the animal with only 6 sts on 3 dpn's is very akward. You also have to be extremely neat with all your finishing as the critters are worked completly in the round and you can't turn them to the wrong side to finish your work. But these are great projects for knitters who are comfortable with dpns & have great finishing skills - or for someone looking to improve their skills. My 2-yr-old loves her purple elephant! I can't wait to work up the rest of them!
