No matter your level of expertise, this book is a must for anyone wanting to knit for young children...classic, but up-to-date patterns that are too adorable not to knit.
Further, the delivery only took days, not weeks as I had expected.
Working on the Tallulah sweater. So much fun! Planning to make the Sean shawl too. There are several great designs in here. Most seem pretty easy but there are a couple that are difficult if you want a challenge.
I fell in love with a sample sweater in a lys but they didn't have the pattern book. I was not surprised to find that Jimmy Beans had it. The sweater is well on it's way and it is coming out very well - good directions and diagrams to make it a good knitting experience.
The patterns are fanstastic, took some time as I am a beginner but plenty of varying patterns for every skill level. The yarn knits beautifully, only disappointed as they seemed to have discountinued the yarn. First found my color on eBay and then found the yarn here at Jimmy Beans and bought up some more for my next project.
This collection consists of 16 designs that are classic and stylish, as you would expect from Kim Hargreaves. All of the patterns are written for the Rowan yarn Plaid and are all reccommended to be knit up on size 11 needles. My only beef is with their gauges. if every pattern is knit on the same size needles with the same yarn, then why are some of the patterns listed as having 11 sts/4in, some as being 13sts, some as 15sts, and some as 16sts? I've worked several of them and these patterns really do knit up beautifully, you just have to do a lot of fiddling before you start to work one to make sure that you get gauge.
