Marin from Vermont Organic Fiber Company created this ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE blanket out of a few of her favorite O-Wool yarns... She even rinsed and blocked the blanket in the local river... she said that a bit of Vermont has to go into everything she does. She made up the pattern, and it was based on the baby shower invitation that she saw... Though the colors weren't her first thought for a baby, she accepted the challenge to make something match and was super happy with the results - and so is Huck!
She used two colors of OWool Classic, Chocolate 2 and Robin's Egg 1 and one color a dye house mistake 'second' in your case of Balance in Turquoise 2 hanks. The mix makes for a slightly lighter blanket. Having made a good sized swatch, it used almost ALL of the yarn.
The pattern is a very simple Barbara Walker 'Hexagon' from her first blue stitch book. Barbara made it in two colors, not three.
I love the dimensionality of the pattern and it is achieved by slipping the two verticals, so you are only using one color at a time, no carries and so forth. SO, it is truly a beginners pattern...
