Both Jeanne and Autumn have knit these socks before and I just had to jump on the bandwagon! I love wearing my Dansko clogs and these seemed like the perfect socks for when I just need a little something to keep my tootsies warm. I was right! I'll definitely be making more of these!
Lessons learned: Next time, I will make the foot opening a little longer by making the heel wrap longer to create more of a ped style sock that works better with these mary janes. I will also use a slightly smaller needle, either a US 2.5 or a 2 because I think I prefer a firmer fabric. These were my first pair of adult socks so I definitely learned a few things about my own preferences!
Modifications made: I made a couple of modifications. I knit a few extra rows on the heel wrap part so that it comes up a bit higher on the back of my foot and I worked the foot seamlessly instead of seaming them. I found that someone else had done this on Ravelry and followed their instructions for it. It worked out really well.
This yarn is a yarn that we used to carry but no longer do by IndieDyer called Supersock Select in Boogieman. It is really similar to Koigu which is recommended for the pattern. I just happened to have this in my stash. Hurray for stash busting!
