Christmas is almost here, which is why we wanted to give you just a few more last-minute gift ideas! We've done our best to cover all of your gifting needs this season - see more ideas below throughout this newsletter, too! Happy Holidays, and thank you for all of your support this year!
1) First up, we've taken our gorgeous December Lorna's Limited Edition Color, "The Shire", and created a beautiful yarn bouquet using each of the weights of Lorna's Laces yarns - just for your favorite Tolkien fan (Terry wants one of these really badly!). |

Why should everyone else have all the fun?!?! You can add these items (like an Artyarns Shawl Kit, gorgeous new Laura Nelkin kits, stunning shawl pins, and more!) to your wish list and then share it with your friends and family this Christmas! Kristen has some of the Travel Traditions items on her wish list this year, let's just hope her hubby takes the hint... |

Every knitter and crocheter knows that you are only as good as the tools you use. That's why we've put together a few of our favorite tools (like Knitter's Pride needles, Della Q and Chicken Boots organizational cases, Namaste bags, and so much more!) to help us be our very best every day - and they are great to give as gifts too! |

We can't leave all of you sewists and quilters out there in the dark this season, so we've got some great gift ideas for you to enjoy, too! Laura especially loves her Alabama Chanin Bloomer's Swing Skirt - it's simply stunning - and Gus is super-excited about Kaffe Fassett's Crazy Squares Table Runner. Any of these kits make great gifts because they contain everything you need to create a beautiful work of art. We've also included some of our other favorite fabric and sewing books below for you to peruse! | Check out the hand sewn skirt Laura made from Alabama Chanin's Studio Sewing + Design book using the cute Jay-Cyn knit fabrics from Birch Organics. Skye's dress, also shown in this photo, uses a different print from the same collection. We love their creativity! |

From the subtle color changes in Takeuma to the brighter transitions of Koromo, and the fuzzy angora softness of Nadeshiko, there is a little something for everyone! Yarns like these rarely go on sale, so it's a great opportunity to stock up while you can. This gorgeous triple-treat of awesome yarns isn't likely to last long around these parts!

Imperial Yarns Tracie: Now 20% Off!
Imperial Yarns are 100% made in the USA, and we just love the rustic and wooly feel of all of their yarns. Tracie is a fingering weight that is actually a little on the heavier side, making it perfect for cozy and warm sport-weight projects. This yarn has tons of loft and comes in a variety of gorgeous colors. Tracie has sadly been discontinued, which means we are now able to offer it at a really great price! Check out one of our patterns using Tracie (and its differently spun counterpart Tracie Too) for some easy gift ideas like the Rustic Shawl, Convertible Button Scarf, Rhombus Feather Shawl, or the Swing Cardigan!
Tons of Great Fabric newly on Sale!
We've got so many fabrics newly on sale that we had to make this list extra-long just to cover them all! Fabulous prints from Joel Dewberry, Valori Wells, Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner, Philip Jacobs, Melissa White, Brandon Mably, Jenean Morrison and more! Plus, we've got lots of pre-cuts on sale as well. At prices that can't be beat, you'll find everything you need for your next sewing project, and so much more! (PS. Jenn inspired us to sew project bags out of quite a few of these fabrics, using Kristen's Free Project Bag Tutorial to "wrap" our holiday gifts in instead of paper. Genius idea, Jenn!)

Gus's Woven Fur Wool Vest | Gus has been obsessing over weaving since he bought a loom a few months back, and he thought it would be really cool to try weaving with the Erika Knight Fur Wool to create a warm and cozy vest to wear out in the warehouse this winter. The result is this gorgeous furry, but not too furry, fabric. He did both the warp and the weft in the fur wool and he trimmed the vest with leather. He also added some ornate clasps to top off the look. He says it's the perfect weight to keep him nice and toasty while he works. We think he is a creative genius, and we absolutely LOVE the result! |
Monika's Heartsease Cowl | Monika wanted to try out the new Reggae Ombre yarn from Schoppel Wolle, so she snagged 2 balls and this cute little Heartsease Cowl pattern, which was a free download on Ravelry, and got to work. She crocheted it in just a few short hours with a US H hook. She loved working with the Reggae Ombre yarn because of its single ply felted texture and said it softens up a lot with washingp> |
Leanne's Dora Maar Scarf | Leanne knit this scarf out of Classic Elite's Chateau yarn, which is a dyed version of their MountainTop Chalet yarn. The pattern is from Classic Elite's Portraits Booklet. She said the pattern calls for 5 skeins of the Chateau yarn, but she only used 4 skeins and still ended up with a super long and cozy scarf. |
Laura's Hand-Stitched Skirt | Laura has fallen in love with Alabama Chanin style projects, so she set out to try her hand at hand-stitching a whole garment. She started with a simple skirt because it just needs 2 side seams, a hem and elastic at the top - super simple! This cute skirt uses the chevron print Jay-Cyn Elk Grove fabric by Birch organics with a few little elk appliqued along one bottom side edge. She used brown thread to stitch the skirt and brown elastic at the top. The pattern is the basic skirt from the Alabama Chanin Studio Sewing + Design Book, which shows you all of the basic techniques you need to construct your own hand-stitched clothing. Laura says not to be intimidated by hand sewing - it's easier than it looks! |
Erika's Honey Cowl | Erika found this special skein of Tosh Pashmina in one of our recent batches of Onesies and knew it had to go home with her. It looks like a cross between Lover's Walk and Cobbler, neither of which are normally available in Pashmina, so it's a truly special skein. The Honey Cowl is a Free Pattern on the Madelinetosh website, and normally calls for 1 or 2 skeins of Tosh DK, but the Pashmina with its generous 360 yards made the perfect in-between size. We love how this turned out and can't wait to see Erika wear this tons over the coming winter! |
