Duh-nuh...duh-nuh...duh-nuh-duh-nuh...DUH-NUH-DUH-NUH! July is finally here and this month is all about sharks! We teamed up with our friends at Lorna's Laces to bring you Shark Bait, inspired by the fiercest fish in the sea. Sink your teeth (err... needles) into this cool, aquatic blue topped with soft red speckles and knit something ferociously fun this summer! Don't be a guppy, chomp up a skein or two of your own in your favorite Lorna's base!
Jenny recently acquired the latest Pom Pom Quarterly Magazine and cast on for the Zazie Cowl by Anna Maltz. Its striking chevron design reminded Jenny of shark teeth, so she snatched up a skein each of Shark Bait and Pewter in Shepherd Worsted and got to work on this feisty number.
Gus, our wonderful weaving guru, created a woven cowl on the loom using two skeins of Shark Bait in Shepherd Sport. As a finishing touch, he incorporated Miyuki Beads, giving this fabulous accessory a bit of sparkle. It's perfect for year-round wear!
For even more thrills, pick up a pack of coordinating Spark Stitch Markers, designed specifically for this month's spine-tingling celebration!
If you're a fan of the epic Shark Bite socks by Lara Smoot on Ravelry, then we've got a special treat for you! We're helping Lara host her Shark Bite II KAL in celebration of Discovery Channel's Shark Week, kicking off on July 23rd. Her brand new sock pattern is perfect for the occasion and can be purchased on her Ravelry page! And, to make things easy, we've even created Shark Bite II KAL kits to obtain all the yarn you'll need to make these spiffy socks.
Remember, this KAL starts in 2 weeks! We're expecting this knit-along to be a huge hit, so be sure to order your kit soon. (But don't worry, if we run out we can always try to order more!)
Not a sock knitter? No problem! We found a frenzy of shark projects that are sure to work up swimmingly! If you've got an appetite for accessories, why not knit the Shark's Tooth cowl by Renee Leverington? This cute cowl goes straight for the jugular!
Or, if you're in the mood for a home accessory, the Shark Attack Lap Blanket by Angie Hartley will "gobble" up your little one (to their delight, of course!).
And finally, the crocheted Shark Bag by Erin Sharp is perfect for toting around small items while expressing your love for all things sharks!
