Top of the mornin' to ya! St. Patrick's Day is quickly approaching, and we wanted to ask you all - what are you doing to celebrate? Are you running amok in your local clover field? Maybe you're cooking a lovely dinner of corned beef and cabbage? Perhaps just sitting at home watching your favorite show with a pint of ale next to you - whatever it may be, we certainly won't judge!
Our favorite way to celebrate most holidays is relaxing with a new project to commemorate the date, whether it be a hat, scarf, sweater, or pair of socks, perchance! This year, we've opted for the socks to keep our toesies warm and project bags full. We want to share with you all what we're making in hopes that you'll join us for a little bit of fun, looking to the end of the rainbow for that fabled pot 'o gold!
The Jimmy Beans Wool Pot O' Gold socks are the perfect (or, should we say pairfect?) way to spend your holiday, watching parades on the television while you start your next row. These socks are knit from the toe up, featuring a pattern from our very own Amy Gunderson!
Each sock kit comes complete with a pre-wound skein of Biscotte Yarns Bis Sock, making your knitting journey that much easier as you can get started as soon as it arrives! We've also included 100 yards of Madelinetosh Tosh Sock for contrasting heels and toes to make a memorable knit that you'll be wearing every St. Paddy's Day!
It feels like dancing on the very rainbow that leads us to this treasure in the first place!
But what about the gold? Well, have no fear! You will also receive a handful of chocolate coins, three lucky charms in the shapes of clovers, and the download code for the pattern - just be careful not to let any leprechauns get a hold of these as you may not be able to get them back!
Please note: If you would like us to wind your yarn in half for two-at-a-time socks, we would be more than happy to do that - just shoot us a message saying so at support@JimmyBeansWool.com or in the extra comments field of your order.

St. Paddy's Day is all about celebrations, and boy, do we have one for you! We're elated to announce that we've picked up Neighborhood Fiber Co. as a year-round brand we stock. After the excitement and adoration you all showed last year during our monthly pop-ups, we knew we had to show a little more love to our friends in the neighborhood. The yarns we've picked out to have our needles and hooks taste are Organic Studio Worsted and Studio Sock, both being staples in the brand's lineup.
Neighborhood Fiber Co. Organic Studio Worsted is crafted from 100% wool that's machine-washable! Hand-dyed to perfection, this yarn is treated in an environmentally-friendly way to make sure you don't have to use your precious time handwashing all of your garments.
Nothing is as dreamy as being great for the environment and we're so thrilled to announce that this yarn is GOTS-certified organic! This process helps make this worsted-weight yarn stay as soft and vibrant as ever without sacrificing quality!
Talk about sturdy and strong! Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio Sock has a unique 8-ply construction, making your next project withstand the test of time without wear and tear!
Like the Organic Studio Worsted, this yarn is minimally processed to make sure it's as environmentally friendly as possible, also achieving the GOTS-certification! Excellent for all types of garments, your next favorite fingering-weight socks, shawl, or sweater starts here!

Mad|Tosh Are You DK, Are You DK, Mad|Tosh?
Irish stout may be the drink of choice on St. Paddy's Day, but we have to say Madelinetosh Tosh DK is probably our yarn of choice when it comes to the transitioning of seasons. We're in this weird spot right now where the weather seems to flip a coin on whether or not it'll be chilly or pleasant, so we have to be prepared no matter what! That's why we love the DK weight so much. Being able to wear it on its own or paired over something else makes this yarn versatile and a pleasure to work with!
Madelinetosh Tosh DK is a 100% Merino wool yarn available in the expansive color palette of glazed colorways dreamt up by the creative teams over at Tosh HQ.
Each skein provides you with a generous 225 yards to work with and is machine washable (though we still recommend hand-washing all of your garments just to be safe). This lush and super-soft yarn makes creating an absolute joy!
Are you interested in a color and we don't list enough in stock? Just place an order and we will let you know how long it will take to arrive! Our stellar fulfillment team will also visually match your skeins should you order more than one of the same color and will email you if they differ noticeably from the others.

Rowan Is Lookin' Fine!
Hunting for a four-leaf clover is something most of us can say we've done in our childhood (or as recently as yesterday - we don't judge!) It's supposedly good luck to find one, right? Well, what about finding that perfect yarn? You know, the yarn you've been squirreling away your piggy bank for. This year, a few of the Beans are feeling a little adventurous and have decided to delve into the world of lace-weight yarn.
Rowan Fine Lace is composed of 80% Baby Suri alpaca and 20% fine Merino wool to make a delightfully soft yarn that's perfect for crafting your next favorite garment. The modest halo created by the alpaca gives the yarn an ethereal feel suitable for any maker who wants to live life a little more elegantly. Each ball of Rowan Fine Lace yarn comes with 437 yards of lovely lace to work with, ideal for smaller needle sizes like a US 0 or, if you're feeling adventurous, a larger needle size to make open lace panels in your project.
Welcoming spring has never been so easy!

Our Own Pot of Gold!
We've always been told that the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was, like, the ultimate find, right? We've always visualized this big, cast iron pot overflowing with gold coins, sparkling under a giant rainbow. This got us to start thinking, though. What if that was just a metaphor, and the pot of gold was just a treasure that we hold dear, like finding a needle in the haystack sort of thing?
That's what we think the newest magazine from Interweave Crochet is - our pot of gold! Interweave Crochet Magazine - '21 Spring edition is perfect for all of us makers who are ready for the wintertime to be over, sighing wistfully, staring at the horizon that foretells warmer temperatures, singing birds, and blooming flowers.
In this issue, you will find sweet, breezy crochet patterns that welcome the springtime with a bang, featuring lacy designs and utilizing various crochet stitches to make beautiful works of art that deserve a place in your wardrobe!
Welcome 14 new patterns to choose from complete with written instructions and gorgeous, breathtaking photography to accompany them, which help in getting those making wheels a-turnin'!

Along with our love for St. Patrick's Day, we also want to show love for a certain scholarship that has been the hot topic at the JBW and MadTosh HQs the past few months.
That's right - the Beans for Brains Scholarship is back! After the success that was last year's iteration of this merit-based scholarship, we've brought it back this year to help those of you with the aspiration to attend post-secondary education. This program focuses on the standard things such as GPA, extracurricular activities, and financial need along with the added twist of being specifically for those of you with a passion for all things YARN!
This year, the stakes are high with three scholarships available, so for all of you who enjoy a little competition, this one's for you! We would like to thank our three sponsors, which include those of us at Jimmy Beans Wool, Madelinetosh, and the lovely people over at Knitter's Pride.
Each scholarship covers $2,500 and has helped students in the past go to places such as our local University of Nevada, Reno; Portland State University; Yale University; and Harvard University just to name a few, hehe!
If you or someone you know would be interested in applying for the Beans for Brains Scholarship Program, please feel free to send them our way! Information regarding this program can be found on our official 2021 Beans for Brains page! Applications are now officially live - good luck to all who enter, we can't wait to see your competitive spirits shine!

Project On Our Needles!
Sam's Pot O' Gold Socks
Talk about lucky - our Bean, Sam, got a chance to test-knit not just one but both colorways of our Pot O' Gold Socks! We're jealous! Using the cute lucky charms (hehe!) she was able to keep track of her place with both socks easily despite using different colors and knitting them at the same time (that's already a lot of numbers floating around in her head, so we can't blame her)!
She excitedly told us that her father will be the lucky recipient of the green colorway while she is going to hog the rainbow one all to herself (she may have said with an evil cackle).
