Just the other day, one of our customers was on the phone and gave us the greatest idea: Kidsilk Haze and Manos mittens!! She said that the Kidsilk Haze provides just enough softness and sheen to the kettle dyed Manos - and the results are incredible. It took us about 5 minutes to pick out some complimentary colors - and about 2 days for me to knit them up! We decided on fingerless gloves (instead of mittens) because i wanted to be able to use them at the computer. In fact, i'm wearing them right now - as i type!! (And, of course, they are great for giving Wiley a pet on the neck.)
I did block the first one right after i finished it. The resultant glove is much, much softer, but a bit bigger (my hands are pretty small). That said, i would highly recommend blocking yours (handwash in warm water), but suggest using a US 7 needle if you have small hands. For larger hands, the US 8 should be just fine.
Gauge is approx 16 sts/4 inches
US 8 DPN needles recommended, but not included.
Pattern is on page 162 of the book One-Skein Wonders. If you don't already own this book, you're going to love it! The only reason we marked it "intermediate" is because it's knit on double pointed needles. The rest is easy!
Photo shown is colors Marmalade and Prairie, but we've scoured our stock and also included our other favorite combinations.
(Difficulty: 2 out of 3)
