Storyteller is knit from the bottom up in one piece. The hood is knit from the neck up and the garter rib border and cap sleeves are picked up and knit in the round. There is no sewing other than the shoulder and hood grafts!
US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle in 24" (60 cm) length for smaller sizes, 32" (80 cm) length for larger sizes, one set US 7 (4.5 mm) double pointed needles for working sleeves, 7 stitch markers, tapestry needle, 2 (3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5) buttons approximately 1/2 - 7/8" in diameter.
This will be my first attempt at knitting a garment! I was finally inspired by this gorgeous pattern...by clear way it is written, the awesome yarn it recommends, and the style will be appealing to wear for many years!
I love this pattern! It's got enough pattern to it to hold interest, but not so complicated that you can't space out and knit while watching tv for large portions of it. ;0) I made the smallest size for my 18 mo. old. She loves it, and so do I!
