I had purchased a few balls of this with my friend in mind. I played with a couple of different ideas before stumbling upon this great pair of wrist warmers. The pattern is called Dashing. It is free and can be found on-line at
Knitty.com.
I know I'm a little crazy....in the midst of juggling kids, school stuff, work, home stuff, getting organized for Christmas and knitting up a large blanket for my mother - I decided to also start another knitting project. Ok my head hurts now. But knitting will make me feel better, I know it. My motto is this: forget the dusting, knit a few rows!
My dear friend is an outdoorsy ranch girl, whose pets outnumber her family members. She is always outside doing something with her kids and menagerie and she generally doesn't pay much attention to her hands. And I nag her a lot about it. So, in addition to
Knitter's Hands and some more rubber gloves!, I thought that these little wrist warmers would be perfect. Cozy enough to keep out the cold, but they wouldn't get in the way of feeding the horses, and the cows, and the chickens and the dogs, and the cats....and the guinea pig...and the rat too?! I'm not kidding.
The Autunno yarn is divine to work with - I just love it. It is soft and feels great next to the skin, and it has a the most beautiful color changes as you knit it up. If you get chance to work with Autunno, don't pass it up, I know you'll love it too!
