| Flagg Bags, Cocoknits, & New Koigu Hue! Fully Stocked in Wool + Cotton! | | |
From synchronized swimming to diving, gymnastics, and everything in between, the Summer Games will certainly bring something fun and fresh to the table! Are you rooting for a particular team? Maybe you just admire the skill and work that went into these routines. We're certainly going to be tuning in for some much-needed competition and to celebrate, we've also got something fresh and fun in the way of a brand new kit hitting our site TODAY!
|
The Jimmy Beans Wool Gold Medal Hat & Scarf Kit uses five different colors of Berroco Comfort, representing the colors of the Olympic rings, making it an all-inclusive kit that everyone can take part in!
This kit gives you enough yardage to make a matching hat and scarf, giving you a head start on your cold-weather crafting as well as something to do with your hands as you sit on the edge of your seat during the summer games!
|
|
The hat is worked flat in garter stitch, with increases that create the rounded hat shape. The two sides are worked separately and then joined with a three-needle bind-off at the very top! Stitches are then picked up around the lower edge, and the ribbed brim is worked downward. This unusual construction keeps you on your toes just like your favorite athletes all competing for the gold!
The scarf is worked in two halves, beginning at the outside edges and worked inward. This project is made entirely of garter stitch, making it a simple project for any knitter to get their hands on. Each side is then joined in the center with a three-needle bind-off.

It has been ridiculously hot over here in Nevada the past few days. We're excited to start barbecuing and grilling up some yummy food, but what about our craft? Knitting or crocheting with 100% wool is always nice and fun, but when the temperatures skyrocket, it's a little hard to find the joy in it when you're sweating profusely.
That's why we're a little obsessed with Madelinetosh Wool + Cotton! The wool keeps its squishy softness while the cotton provides a fabric that's both breathable and light on the skin, making your next favorite project that much more apt for summer weather! The way this yarn takes on dye is also very interesting, creating a gentle marled effect where the wool takes the dye, and the cotton stays white. Madelinetosh Wool + Cotton is a DK-weight yarn, making it ideal for all sorts of projects and garments!

Something to Lava!
The '21 June Collector's Club color from Koigu is smokin'! This new, hot hue is inspired by volcanic activity and rivers of oozing lava, resulting in a red hot shade we cannot get enough of!
|
|
Each skein of Koigu KPPPM yarn is hand-painted, resulting in gorgeous, one-of-a-kind colorways that we can't help but drool over! The purple and black base of Lava mixed with bright pops of yellow and pink bring us right to the volcanic site where it all originated!
Reminiscent of the cooling molten rock and how it creates marvelous spirals and smooth formations, we gotta say Koigu really knocked it out of the park! This fingering-weight, 100% Merino wool yarn is perfect for all projects from socks to cardigans and shawls!
