| Blue Sky, Jaw-Some Kits, & Cocoknits!
|
We're going absolutely goo-goo gaga over these kits made specifically for our little bundles of joy! Nothing brings a smile to our face like the joyous laughter of a baby and the scrumptious blends of summer yarn that grace our needles! So we had to ask ourselves - why not combine the two worlds?
Introducing our cutest kit, The Tiny Tots Tin! Meant to act as a welcome gift for new parents, this kit comes with everything you need to make an adorable curated outfit for your special little treasure! Cozy up with one of our three colorway options (Deckster Blue, Pink Linen, and Willow) using five balls of Sirdar Baby Bamboo DK, perfect for making something girly, boyish, or even gender-neutral! Designed to be gifted, or simply knit up for your own adorable addition (size 3-6 months), each kit comes with a sticker on top, tissue paper, and a baby bear washcloth, making it the perfect kit to gift in the same container!
This kit can easily become a family heirloom that will be passed down for generations, and it's adorable to boot(ies)! The love that went into making this kit, as well as the adoration that will surely go into the creation of each item, will help this project stand the test of time!
Please note: This kit does not come with the needles required to finish this project. We recommend a US size 3 (3.25 mm) 24 circular & a set of 5 DPNs, and a US size 6 (4 mm) 24 circular & a set of 5 DPNs.

Just when you thought it was safe to start another WIP... Our favorite finny friends returned with a vengeance! One of our favorite ways to cool down in the summer is to tuna in to watch our favorite sea-dwellers accompanied by facts, trivia, teeth, and of course, a coordinating project (or two)!
Sink your needles and hooks into the latest kits from Jimmy Beans Wool that celebrate these jaw-some creatures! We've got options this year for both knitters and crocheters to make the most adorable themed pieces that will look excellent in your accessory collection and double as the perfect gift for your favorite person who lives life on the edge (of the water).

And for our crochet project, we've got the super app-eeling Hammerhead Sharks kit! Perfect for beginners and beyond (even for knitters who want to take a swim on the wild side), this kit comes with Berroco Modern Cotton in the colors 1624 - Salty Brine, 1662 - Rose Island, and 1600 - Bluffs as well as two sets of 8mm safety eyes, enough Polyfil to fill both of your sharks, a darning needle, a CZ shark tooth progress keeper, and a download code for the Hammerhead Shark amigurumi pattern designed by Michael Hon.

Did You Know?: Hammerhead sharks give live birth, and one litter can range anywhere from 6 to about 50 pups!

Surviving the Drought(lander)!
Okay, we gotta say: WOW! You guys really blew us away with the reception of the Droughtlander kit by Rachel Roden of Unraveled Designs! We guess we're all seriously feelin' those withdrawals of our favorite drama, aren't we?
|
|
You guys were so excited about this kit that we decided to make an option where you can choose your own colors for your shawl! So many people asked for this option, so we're here to deliver! Our recommended method for choosing colors is to open up a tab in your browser with the kit and another one with Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light. That way, you don't have to feel the pressure of remembering all of the color names by heart or if they're warm-toned or cool-toned!
Then, when your heart's made a decision, just choose both colors from the drop-down menus, add to cart, and check out! It's that easy! When you're done with the hard part, don't forget to pick up a copy of the pattern from Rachel's Ravelry page - a little time-traveling birdie arrived from the future to let us know that the current price for the pattern is $5.00 and will increase to $8.00 on July 23rd, so be sure to pick one up ASAP!
|
This shawl is knitted from the middle out, beginning with a combination of slipped stitch colorwork before branching out into wings of hound's tooth colorwork, which reminds us of the stellar fashion woven into the story of Jamie, Claire, and the rest of the gang. We think Rachel did an amazing job, inspired by the longest Droughtlander we've experienced yet as well as Brianna who embodies both the traditional and the modern!
Please note: We recommend using a US size 5 (3.75mm) 32" needle to complete this project - it is not included in the kit itself.

Blue Sky Ahead!
Okay, we have to give it up to one of our Beans - not only is she an incredibly kind and thoughtful person, but she also had the pleasure of taking part in the Blue Sky Fibers Maker's Program recently!
|
One of the universal faves of us desert dwellers is hands-down the sunsets and evenings we get to experience. Sweating in triple-digits during the day all feels worth it when the sun sets and the whole world seems to change.
Bright blue skies fade to palettes of pink and orange before melting into deep blues and purples, the towering trees cast long shadows, and the mountains just bring this sense of safety to us. Living in the foothills and the bowl that is Reno surrounded by the sky-reaching mountains brings a sense of peace to us, and this was perfectly captured in Adrienne's newest creation, the Mountain Twilight Poncho!
|
|
Perfect for evenings where the temperature decides to take a dip, this project will certainly keep you cozy and your hooks busy! Crafted out of Blue Sky Fibers Alpaca Silk in the shades Peacock, Plume, and Sapphire, these rich shades will transport you to the desert right after the sun sets and the stars begin to twinkle overhead!
We also had the amazing opportunity to interview Adrienne, asking hard-hitting questions regarding things like her creative process and what her favorite Blue Sky Fibers yarn is! Interested in learning about her experience as a designer and maker? Go check out our official blog post to learn more!

We're Coocoo for Cocoknits!
Your accessories can indeed make or break your project bag. Seriously, nothing is worse than thinking you have enough stitch markers for your project and then rummaging to find that there is not a stitch marker in sight. Nothing. Nada!
So, of course, cocoknits came to the rescue with their newest colorways of our favorite accessories! This muted rainbow reminds us of the dusty colors found within the desert (which, of course, reminded us of home, as you can imagine, hehe!), from the sprawling sands to towering mountains and silver sage, we're feelin' some desert pride right about now!
This colorway is available in two of our favorite notions: the foam Stitch Stoppers and the assorted Triangle Stitch Markers!
|
|
The cocoknits Stitch Stoppers are an excellent way to store your project if you plan on coming back to it later. Securing your stitches in style, these foam accessories are able to slide completely onto the needles so you don't have to fear them falling off the tip!
These stitch stoppers accommodate a wide range of needle sizes, from US 0 to US 19! So long, dropped stitches - see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya!
|
The cocoknits Triangle Stitch Markers are not only colorful but round out your stash perfectly! These stitch markers are made of steel, covered in nylon in 6 beautiful shades!
Counting at 54 markers total (18 in each size), you'll always be prepared for the unexpected when it comes to your project! These bad boys are available in three sizes, accommodating most needle sizes from US 15 and smaller!

We've been binging so many shows lately! From period pieces to dramas to love stories! And one of our favorite love stories has to be from our second monthly pop-up from last year. Ahh, what a great time to reminisce about!

mYak is a love story for Tibetan culture all written with our favorite medium - yarn! By Paola and Andrea in Biellese, Italy, the rich traditions of Tibet are cared for with the utmost respect. Falling in love with the nomadic yak herding community, mYak learned all about the land, people, and the yaks themselves! This duo admires the community and holds them in high regard, working together with them to create some of the softest fibers we've ever had the pleasure of making with! They've also made the conscious choice of non-depigmenting their fibers as a way to show respect for the environment and maintain the natural beauty derived from these yaks.
|
Wanna learn more about mYak? We had the pleasure of interviewing them back in February of 2020 for an official blog post. Their answers were truly from the heart and very insightful and covered everything from how they started all the way to how they find inspiration for the colors, as well as the craziest place they've ever knit or crocheted!

Project On Our Needles!
Urth Yarns Emirgan Park Cowl
Have you ever seen a cozier-looking cowl?! We had the pleasure of receiving it in our Urth Yarns trunk show, and we couldn't have been more excited to see it!
This project uses just one skein of the sumptuous strings of Urth Yarns Uneek Fingering! This design is a simple tube of reversible 3x3 rib, inspired by the tulip beds in Istanbul's Emirgan Park! One end of this cowl features an overlapping flower stem I-cord to create a whimsical border, which is just elevated with the self-patterning colors of Urth Yarns!
This design is great for all seasons, but especially in the rainier months, as you can double this cowl as a hood for those unexpected showers!
