There's nothing better for summer malaise than an easy, breezy book - you know, the kind you can pick up and put down at will, or even "rest your eyes" (ahem, nap in the sunshine) in between chapters - so we've put together a special Summer Reading List (remember those?!?) with our June installments in the Micro-Brewed Series! This month's dyers turned to their favorite Young Adult novels for inspiration and came up with some sizzling colors that will make you wish summer would never end! |

| Something is afoot in the Canon Hand Dyes studio - can you put your detective skills to the test and figure out what it is? Nancy Drew certainly could, and "The Hidden Staircase" would do her proud! Inspired by the classic book covers in the eternally popular mystery series, the amazing gradient colorway subtly shifts from vivid yellow, through enigmatic lime green, mysterious dark green, and shadowy dark blue to end in an enlightened powder blue. |
It's absolutely gorgeous, and with 460 yards to the hank, the William Merino Sock base has plenty of yardage to whip up a beautiful one-skein project! We like Herald by Janina Kallio or Reyna by Noora Laivola! And, don't forget to check out our partner shop, Loops's complementing Nancy Drew color, The Secret of the Old Clock: this color features shades of lime and dark green, dark blue, and deep charcoal - another fun classic for your enjoyment! Read more about the mysteries of fantastic yarn in the Canon Hand Dyes Etsy Shop! |

Teenage love? Doomed romance? You know you love a good tearjerker, and we dare you to make it through The Fault in Our Stars without also making it through a box of tissues! It certainly inspired a breathtaking color from Expression Fiber Arts: "My Thoughts Are Stars" is an ethereal mix of blues, grays, and purples that's absolutely heavenly!
| Dyed on the Resilient sock base, a superwash merino wool as strong and spirited as Hazel and Augustus, this blissful beauty would look divine in A Nice Ribbed Sock (or two!) by Glenna C., or in the lovely crocheted Fortune's Shawlette by Tamara Kelly. Or, take Chris's lead and work up a quick Decay Shawlette while binge watching your favorite show this weekend! |

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's the Yarn on Fire! This month's installment from Blissful Knits will make you want to volunteer as tribute: "Katniss" is an electrifying mix of bright pinks, poison-berry purples, and acid greens speckled with ominous black that's every bit as exciting as the Hunger Games books that inspired it! It's what all the cool kids in the Capitol will be wearing this season, and our hardest decision will be what to knit with the delicious blend of merino, cashmere, and nylon in the Ambrosia MCN base!
| How about an Asterope Shawl by Romi Hill, or Radiata by Nim Teasdale? Or, use two skeins to knit Joji Locatelli's Imagine When shawl like Erika's version pictured here! We can't make them burst into flames, but the eye-catching yarn will ensure that the odds of garnering compliments are ever in your favor! |

What's more relaxing that soaking in the bath with your favorite book? How about a bath with bubbles?! This month's exclusive notion from Black Rock Mud is good, clean fun, with a twist: the delightful, effervescent bubbles from the Clean as Mud Bath Bombs will tickle your skin and tingle your senses for the ultimate spa experience. And of course, they're made with softening alkaline clay from our very own Black Rock Desert to balance the skin and make it silky and summery-smooth!
