New Malabrigo yarn and books plus a trunk show!
Malabrigo Nuevo, Mis Amigos!

As warmer weather fast approaches, Jimmy and the Beans are dreaming of being transported to a faraway land. While our bags aren't quite packed yet, we thought it would feed our wanderlust to take a figurative trip to Malabrigo, located in the South American country of Uruguay. Want to tag along on our adventure?! No bags (unless project bags count...you might need one of those!) or passports necessary! Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the stitches!

If you're a fan of Mechita solids, you'll love its speckled sister. Same fingering weight, same single-ply yarn, but speckled! Black speckles complement the bright Malabrigo hues that we are accustomed to, creating a visual masterpiece. Can you keep a secret?! We may have snagged a few of these skeins for our own personal stashes. Don't tell our husbands.

Hot off the presses at Malabrigo are Book 13: Shawl Road and Book 14: Mechita & Sock. Perfect for keeping cozy on a night under the stars, or for a day spent in a chilly office (office A/C is a nuisance that plagues us all, right?!), Book 13 showcases a variety of shawls knit in every yarn-weight imaginable. If you'd rather stick to fingering-weight projects, Book 14 is for you! Patterns can use Mechita and Sock interchangeably - we're hooked!
If you've had your eye on an individual pattern from Book 10: Rios, Book 11: Aniversario, or the Dos Tierras Collection, but haven't wanted to commit to the entire book, we now have PDFs available! Be still, my beating corazon!

Malabrigo Trunk Show Treasures
Now that we've taken a 'trip' to Malabrigo, we thought it would be fun for Malabrigo to take a 'trip' to visit us... Even if it was just in the form of a delivery! We were lucky enough to snag some of the pieces from their recent collections as a trunk show, *squeal*!
Head over to the blog for the knitty gritty (pun intended!) on our recent photoshoot, and if you're in the Reno area, stop by the retail shop to see these pieces in person - they don't disappoint!

Yarniad, Home of the Yarnmaids!
|
Next stop in the travels of Jimmy and the Beans - Yarniad, home of the Yarnmaids! We're biting our fingernails waiting for the return of our favorite show on April 25th! In the meantime, we're keeping our nerves at bay with our Yarnmaid's Tale MKAL kit. If you haven't ordered your kit yet, there's still time to join us! #blessedbetheyarn

Year of Giving is back for the month of April, and we've teamed up with a new designer and organization! This month's kit features a triangular shawl pattern designed by the Design Team at Vogue Knitting. $5 from every Violeta Vivida kit sold will benefit UNIDOS Disaster Relief and Recovery Program, whose mission is to support Puerto Rico in recovery from Hurricane Maria.
Thanks to you, our wonderful friends, we've collectively raised $1,200.00 total for our Year of Giving organizations thus far this year. If you'd like to help, we still have kits available for the Snow Dog Shawl/SPCA, Whippersnapper Cowl/Boys & Girls Club, and Violeta Vivida Shawl/UNIDOS. Together, we can support these wonderful organizations, while also supporting our yarn habits (don't worry, we're supporting our yarn habits, too!). It's a win-win!
