| Introducing Crafty Hour and NEW Fully Loaded Bag Plus a Hot New Kit From Brooklyn Boy Knits | | |
Did you know that today is National Come In from the Cold Day? As makers, that sounds splendid! Sure, the snowy scenery sometimes feels like one of the earth's many wonders, but nothing beats coming inside when you've been chilled to your bones. Decompressing with a nice hot cup of cocoa and sitting in front of the fire is basically the best thing ever, especially since the cold has this funny way of always seeming to find its way in no matter how many layers of clothing you're wearing - it's not fair!
Bundle up in the fan-favorite Football Scarf Starter Kit! This scarf is one of the coziest accessories this season. Which season, you ask? Football season, baby! The chilly evenings and frigid afternoons make it the ideal way to kick off (hehe) that one really important game of football that's coming up - you know the one.
Each kit comes with 2 balls of Cascade 220 Superwash in your favorite team's two main colors, 1 leather tag for your finished project, and, of course, the pattern needed to make your Score Scarf!
With the option available for both knitters and crocheters, everyone can join in on the fun while aggressively yelling your cheers (and possibly profanities) at the television screen from the comfort of your couch!
After hut, hut, hiking your kit, consider sprinting on down to our official Blog Post, where you can get instructions on how to knit up (or crochet up) your very own Football Score Tracker Scarf! Play ball!

When accessorizing, it's always been said that less is more but we have a rebuttal to that. What if it's cold? What if you're a maker and wanna show off your awesome skills? Luckily, we understand that during the winter months, more is more!
In that same spirit of more is more, we've got a real treat! Madelinetosh has recently collaborated with Louis Boria (aka Brooklyn Boy Knits) for a knit-a-long! And the best part? You only need four skeins of Madelinetosh TML Triple Twist!
The Lonka trio is a series of Fair Isle projects, consisting of a hat, reversible cowl, and fingerless mitts, that give you the cozy feeling of winter all season long! We have two colorways available for this kit, both of which reflect the season by blending the worlds of warm and cool tones in artful ways.
You also have the option to purchase the pattern separately and choose your own color palette! If you're having trouble figuring out which colors to pick, Louis has already thought ahead and recorded a fun video on how to choose which Triple Twist hues were made for you! The KAL starts on January 25th on his YouTube channel - See you there!

A Stroll Through the Fiber Garden!
One of the saddest things about winter is watching our beautiful gardens and flower beds wilt as they prepare for the coming cold - us too, flowers. Us too. Watching them start to turn brown and lower their heads makes us so sad even if we know that they'll be perked back up by spring, it's still upsetting!
That's why we've turned our attention to the beautiful pops of color from yarn - after all, these won't wilt no matter the season! Cascade Miraflores is one of our favorites due to its incredible color payoff and, well, the name speaks for itself.
Miraflores roughly translates to "Look at the flowers", which we'll be doing a lot of once they're back in bloom, but for now, fiber can take that spot in our heart!
Cascade Miraflores is a super-soft blend of 80% alpaca and 20% nylon, ideal for all sorts of warm and bouncy projects. The nylon helps your project keep its shape after repeated use, and the alpaca gives it a gentle halo effect and an ultra-squishable factor! The Aran weight also makes this yarn perfect for any beginner and beyond!

Curl Up with Kentia!
We usually say fall is for shawls, but you can really wear them all year long. Shawls can spruce up any outfit from sophisticated winter ensembles to fun and exhilarating summer outfits! Since it's a little cold, we want something that reminds us of those warm days of spring and summer we have coming up, and what better way to do that than with the Koigu Kentia Wrap?
We've talked about how our marketing team used to have a palm in their office named Peter (RIP Peter), but did you know that kentia is a type of palm? We can almost feel the sun on our skin now! The idea of lush palms with their swaying leaves peppering white beaches makes us giddy with excitement (so giddy we almost forgot it was the dead of winter).
The Kentia Wrap was designed by the inspiring Ambah O'Brien and really fills us with a sense of comfort with its woven-esque design. Each kit comes with five full skeins of Koigu KPM yarn and 10 mini-skeins in a rainbow of different color combinations to really bundle up with! And the best part? You don't have to water it!
Please note that this kit does not come with needles or the pattern - these will need to be purchased separately. We recommend a size US 5 needle!

Part of the appeal of National Come In from the Cold Day is that you can invite other people to join in the festivities of winter! Well, that's a little hard to do this year, but we came up with a solution to keep the love, support, and socializing going!
This year, Team Jimmy Beans has something special for you guys! Come hang out with us on Zoom to keep the party going even when you've run out of yarn! We're organizing it to stay in touch with you guys and offer help when needed. We miss having you all come in for project help and hope that by doing this we can still see your smiling faces and open it up to people who don't want to necessarily travel all the way to Reno, NV for in-person help.
Starting on Friday, February 5th, at 4:00 PM PST, we will be hosting a Zoom call where you can join rooms based on your wants and needs! One room will be for club members who want to connect with other people making the same project, one will be for people with specific questions about a personal project you're working on (or just generally want some help or have questions), and one is for general chatter and socializing (think of this like a virtual Knit Night, if you will). These calls will last for an hour each and will be hosted every two weeks, giving you ample opportunity to opt in for some help and some laughs! Join our official Facebook group to stay connected with reminders and timeslots to join the Zoom call, which we've lovingly named, Jimmy's Crafty Hour!

Project On Our Needles!
Sarah's Beanie
It's beanie season! Sarah has been on a roll lately, knitting up her own winter storm of cozy caps to keep her head and ears nice and warm for when the wind picks up! This design was a super simple pattern by Rowan with the option to add a pom pom as a finishing touch. The pale pink shade of the hat was something out of Sarah's comfort zone with her usual palette of neutrals and mossy green, but she was excited to take that step nonetheless! The garter stitch design made it an easy and breezy knit, only taking one afternoon to complete!
