Reno, Nevada -- October 1, 2019 - Jimmy Beans will be donating a portion of sales from a selection of pink patterns, jewelry, and accessories on their retail website for the entire month of October to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In addition, Jimmy Beans has partnered with Knitted Knockers, the organization that provides soft, comfortable knit or crochet prosthetics for breast cancer survivors, to design a branded custom product that will launch today on the Jimmy Beans website.
Laura Zander, CEO of Jimmy Beans Wool, says "We are thrilled to be able to support two amazing, non-profit organizations: Knitted Knockers and Breastcancer.org. These women-lead organizations have put their hearts and souls into providing breast cancer education and support, and we are making it our mission to raise a lot of money for them!"
With the goal to raise awareness around the disease and encourage women to stay healthy and get checked regularly, Jimmy Beans collaborated with Knitted Knockers, an organization they have long admired and respected to design "Knocker Blockers", a custom set of knit blockers, tools for blocking knits, in a stunning gradient of pinks and purples.
Barbara Demorest, Founder of Knitted Knockers, says, "We are so excited to be partnering with Jimmy Beans for this unique collaboraiton - Knocker Blockers! Most people don't know, but our highest cost is SHIPPING, postage alone is over $50,000 per year! All of our knitted and crocheted knockers are made by volunteers, and then we ship for free, so being given these extra funds is such a gift to us. A purchase of Knocker Blockers will help cover the cost of providing theses gifts of comfort and dignity to women at a difficult time in their lives."
The set includes 20 knit blockers in two sizes along with a special knit and crochet pattern. The set is $30 and will be sold exclusively at www.jimmybeanswool.com. For every set sold, Jimmy Beans will donate $5 to the Knitted Knockers Support Foundation..
Jimmy Beans will also donate a portion of sales to Breastcancer.org on pink products like the I Love Handles Wrist Ruler Bracelet, Namaste Oh Snap Mesh Bag, Whirling Dervish Knit Cowl Kit, and much more!

About Jimmy Beans Wool: At the downturn of the dotcom boom, former Silicon Valley engineers Laura and Doug Zander moved to the mountains and opened up a tiny yarn shop in Truckee, California. Jimmy, as Laura is lovingly known, sold coffee alongside the wool (hence the Beans in the name) and Jimmy Beans Wool was born. In 2004, the company settled down in Reno, Nevada where they currently reside today. They occupy an expansive 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse, are considered one of the country's leading destination yarn shops, employ 35 team members, and have built a loyal following and impressive online presence. Along with yarn, Jimmy Beans also provides consumers the most innovative crafting products and accessories, recently acquiring Namaste and della Q, two beloved companies amongst knitters, crocheters, and makers. Both companies sell popular designer handbags, project totes, organizers, accessories, and more. Jimmy Beans will continue to develop products under their patent pending Jimmy's SmartStix, plus hooks, needles, and notions.
