Reno, Nevada -- January 7, 2022--Jimmy Beans Wool is celebrating a major milestone in the year 2022! The business will be turning 20, officially, in May.
It all started with some coffee and a bit of yarn in Truckee, California in 2002. Now, fast forward 20 years and Jimmy Beans Wool has added hand-dyed yarn giant, Madelinetosh; a high-end line of maker's bags with della Q,, and a brand new building to the mix?to name just a few major milestones. .
"We're not just celebrating for a day or a month, but a whole dang year!" said Laura Zander, CEO of Jimmy Beans Wool. "We're not quite old enough to drink but we've moved out of the house. We have a ton of amazing events in the works and we're beyond excited to celebrate the past 20 years with some of our favorite businesses and designers in the fiber industry."
To celebrate, the company will be hosting a series of events, make-alongs, and promotions to last throughout the year in addition to releasing special products that will only be available in 2022. .
Jimmy Beans is partnering with major yarn brands such as Berroco, Madelinetosh, Urth Yarns, and Cascade to sponsor special events and products throughout the year as well.
Everything kicks off in January with the Beatnik Pullover designed by Norah Gaughan, Zander's long-time friend. This classic design was released over a decade ago in a grassroots publication, Knitty Magazine
The sweater is made using Berroco Remix, a yarn that consists of 100% recycled remnants from the fashion industry. From January to March, there will be a Beatnik Knit-Along, during which knitters are invited to join the team in creating their own pullovers. Norah and Laura will co-host a virtual Q&A on the Jimmy Beans Wool YouTube channel later in the month.
But wait, there's more! There will be limited edition coffee mugs with a reimagined and updated throwback logo from 2002. In addition to the mugs, this commemorative logo will appear on other exclusive products throughout the year. .
"There will be a lot more events throughout the year," Zander added. "Our customers can keep up with all of these fun activities throughout the year by visiting our page Jimmy Beans Turns 20!"

About Jimmy Beans Wool: At the downturn of the dotcom boom, former Silicon Valley engineers Laura and Doug Zander moved to the mountains and opened up a tiny yarn shop in Truckee, California. Jimmy, as Laura is lovingly known, sold coffee alongside the wool (hence the Beans in the name) and Jimmy Beans Wool was born. In 2004, the company settled down in Reno, Nevada where they currently reside today. They occupy an expansive 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse, are considered one of the country's leading destination yarn shops, employ 35 team members, and have built a loyal following and impressive online presence. Along with yarn, Jimmy Beans also provides consumers the most innovative crafting products and accessories, recently acquiring Madelinetosh and della Q, two beloved companies amongst knitters, crocheters, and makers. Jimmy Beans will continue to develop products under their patent pending Jimmy's SmartStix, plus hooks, needles, and notions.
