Reno, Nevada -- July 25, 2022 Jimmy Beans Wool is proud to announce it will be carrying a revolutionary yarn from Hedgehog Fibres x Madelinetosh, two industry-leading hand-dyed yarn companies.
Yes, revolutionary. But first some background is in order!
It all started with one of Hedgehog Fibres most popular bases, Tweedy. The company found a mill that can blend and spin hand-dyed yarn waste back into a usable tweed fiber.
"It's a totally new way to upcycle yarn and we knew we had to get involved," said Laura Zander, owner of Madelinetosh and Jimmy Beans Wool. "We were so inspired by Beata's [the owner of Hedgehog Fibres] innovative sustainability, we decided to start sending all of our Tosh Scraps (or Unicorn Sprinkles as we're calling them!) in a variety of signature bases and colors to the Hedgehog's HQ in Ireland."
And thus the HHF x MadTosh version of Tweedy was born! It comes in two colors, Dreaming in Light, a creamy yellow, and Future Reflections,a soft light blue.
"This batch of HHF x MT Tweedy is very limited, which is great news for retailers. It means we're getting more shoppers through our doors to seek this highly sought after yarn while it's available," said Shannon Flores, General Manager at Jimmy Beans Wool.
Not only is Flores excited for the potential web and retail traffic but she also said she's happy to bring in this revolutionary yarn because it's a symbol of collaboration over competition.
"We're a woman-owned and predominantly women-run business, so it feels good to be able to carry products that are a result of a partnership between not only two strong businesses but two strong women, Laura Zander and Beata Jezek," Flores added.
To celebrate the launch of this intercontinental collaboration, customers will receive a complimentary HHF x MT Tweedy pattern booklet with purchase of the yarn. The booklet features four small-to-medium-sized projects, one of which Jimmy Beans Wool provided.
