Reno, Nevada -- Sep 9, 2022 For more than 15 years Jimmy Beans Wool has hosted the Biggest Little Getaway Retreat and this year is no exception. The annual, all-inclusive retreat will be held September 21st - 25th for a weekend full of yarn, knitting, crocheting and more.
Attendees will stay at the Peppermill Resort in Reno and for the first time ever, Jimmy Beans has tacked on an additional day making it four days long. Retreaters will attend classes, listen to special presentations, and visit Jimmy Beans Wool brand new 20,000 sq. foot facility and warehouse where all the top-of-the-line knitting and crochet supplies can be purchased.
"Last year, we asked our retreaters to tell us how we can make this an even better fiber-filled experience for them," said Shannon Flores, General Manager at Jimmy Beans Wool. "We listened to them and made this year's retreat a day longer, more educational courses, and included a brand new experience with the M.S. Dixie that I think we can all say we're really looking forward to!"
Each attendee will have the opportunity to attend five knit or crochet classes taught by knowledgeable instructors. This year's line-up includes Amy Gunderson, Afifa Sayeed, Beth Whiteside, and Justine Chenel for knitting and Linda Dean and Tamara Kelly for crochet. These classes will teach everything from new stitch techniques to tips for troubleshooting projects and more.
There will also be special presentations throughout the weekend with a distinguished set of guest speakers including Sajive Jain from Knitter's Pride, Emre Koc from Urth Yarns, Shannon Dunbabin from Cascade Yarns, Michael Fleming from Blue Sky Fibers and Job DeBondt from Scheepjes.
Additionally, retreaters will be taken on an excursion to the beautiful Lake Tahoe aboard the M.S. Dixie for a sunset dinner cruise in Zephyr Cove. This outing will give retreaters the complete Tahoe experience with a famous Tahoe sunset, views of Emerald Bay, local cuisine, and live music.
