Reno, Nevada -- March 24, 2023--The Team Beans are planning to brighten the streets this year at Artown with a yarn bomb tree.
This year's theme is children's literature so the staff at Jimmy Beans Wool will be decorating a tree with the ageless tale The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
"Last year, we saw all the yarn bombed trees that line Riverside Drive during Artown and we knew we had to contribute in some way," said Aiyana Hernandez, Retail Manager. "Once we heard the theme of this year, we were in! We're so excited to officially be a part of this year's Artown and the yarn bomb project. We can't wait to bring this classic story to life."
The Team Beans and the makers who attend Jimmy Beans weekly knit night will be knitting and crocheting countless strawberries, oranges, plums, caterpillars & more over the next few months in order to make this masterpiece.
You'll be able to find the collection of yarn bombed trees between July 1st and July 31st on Riverside Drive along the Truckee River in Downtown Reno.

About Jimmy Beans Wool: At the downturn of the dotcom boom, former Silicon Valley engineers Laura and Doug Zander moved to the mountains and opened up a tiny yarn shop in Truckee, California. Jimmy, as Laura is lovingly known, sold coffee alongside the wool (hence the Beans in the name) and Jimmy Beans Wool was born. In 2004, the company settled down in Reno, Nevada where they currently reside today. They occupy an expansive 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse, are considered one of the country's leading destination yarn shops, employ 35 team members, and have built a loyal following and impressive online presence. Along with yarn, Jimmy Beans also provides consumers the most innovative crafting products and accessories, recently acquiring Madelinetosh and della Q, two beloved companies amongst knitters, crocheters, and makers. Jimmy Beans will continue to develop products under their patent pending Jimmy's SmartStix, plus hooks, needles, and notions.
