Reno, Nevada --August 1, 2023- Jimmy Beans Wool, a leading provider of high-quality yarn and knitting and crochet supplies, is excited to announce its participation in the Craft Yarn Council's Warm Up America initiative.
"As part of the Craft Yarn Council, our goal is to have 2,000 knitters and crocheters donate $50 for the bundle to raise $100,000 for WUA! this year," said Laura Zander, co-founder of Jimmy Beans Wool. "By participating in this campaign, we hope to inspire our customers and the crafting community at large to create and donate hand-crafted items that bring warmth and joy to those in need."
The Warm Up America! initiative, organized by the Craft Yarn Council, is a remarkable campaign aimed at fostering warmth and comfort in communities nationwide. By creating and donating handcrafted items such as hats, scarves, and blankets, volunteers contribute to providing warmth to those in need during the chilly winter months.
"As part of this partnership, Jimmy Beans Wool and its sister company,
Madelinetosh, have submitted four patterns to the Warm Up America! pattern bundle.
Two of the patterns are geared towards crocheters: The Groovy Granny Scarf and Learn To Crochet Sample Scarf. While two of the patterns are for knitters: The RR7 Topper 2.0 and Aspen Ridge Mitts.
"We've recently announced a brand new yarn line,
Yarn Citizen, which is perfect to use for the WUA! projects that will go to those in need," said Laura. "The very core belief of Yarn Citizen is that we're all citizens of the world and our mutual love of yarn is what unites us. We like to be intentional crafters and think before we create, which feels very aligned with the mission of Warm Up America!"
Additionally, Yarn Citizen is all sustainable, upcycled fibers making it affordable and accessible for makers at all economic levels.
WUA! and JBW encourage folks
who want to participate to donate $50 or more, which helps ensure that the items are shipped and delivered to those in need. As a thank you for contributing, they'll receive the Warm Up America! pattern bundle that includes the above patterns and more from other Craft Yarn Council participants.
