A dream held with Shibui Silk Cloud
I’m just 10 rows in adding Shibui Reed and Shibui Silk Cloud held together to make the Carolina Beach Poncho/Shawl which in my version is comprised of sections of Rowan Summerlite cotton, CEY Bella Lino linen/cotton and the Shibui yarns. I chose Reed as my third yarn because it was the color I wanted. I initially only bought Reed but was afraid it would be too thin on its own and decided to add Cloud to hold with it instead of another strand of Reed because I wanted to try that yarn out too and what the heck, this is an experimental poncho/wrap, started mostly to use up some of my Summerlite and CEY yarns. I’m loving the addition so far. You can check out the project in progress if you look up Carolina Beach as a pattern free pattern on Ravelry and look for the project containing these yarns. I think that I would really like a summer top made of Reed and Cloud held together. It creates a beautiful light fabric. The color Fjord is sublime.

Slippery cable needles
These cable needles slip right through my yarn and end up on the floor. I bought them as an inexpensive backup to the wood cable needles I also bought at the same time. Trying to figure out if I can find some other use for these but I don’t recommend for cables. Buy the wood ones and you won’t be disappointed. On,y buy these if you plan to keep a death grip on them once younplace them

Excellent cable needles
These cable needles are perfect. Just slippery enough to easily slide through yarn but not so slippery that they slide out. You can place it and let go and the needle stays in place. The curve and shaping of the needles are also excellent. Easy to manipulate. I plan to buy another pack as backup. Don’t bother with any other kind. These are the ones to buy.

Love the Yarn
Because I love Abiquiu, NM, I bought this skein of sock yarn to test out the color with the idea of making a sweater of it in one of the other sizes of MadTosh yarns in the color Abiquiu. Not sure I'll go that route but love how my gauge swatch knitted up in this BFL sock yarn and will definitely be making socks with this yarn.

I love ALL Spark JBW stitch markers
The Wildflower stitch markers are the third set of Spark stitch markers that I've purchased. Each has been with a different theme and each has been beautiful. Most of all they don't snag! Well, that, and they are a pleasure to look at when I need stitch markers. Perfect combination.

So far, so good with this cotton yarn
I am knitting three scarves using Rowan Handknit cotton. It's the first time I've ever knit with cotton and so far am VERY pleased with the stitch definition, look and hand of the scarves. One scarf is a rib knit type of sport scarf in two colors: gold and black. The cotton knits up in rib nice and squishy. The other two scarves are a beanstalk lace pattern, one is pink and the other this Atlantic blue and the scarves look beautiful in this cotton. I probably shouldn't review this until I've washed and blocked these scarves but I'll post another review after that...for how well it performs and for color fastness, especially for the black and gold scarf. I will say, altering ordering two skeins in the Atlantic blue for my DDL's scarf, I was so smitten by the color I ordered six more skeins to myself a summer shawl.

Spark JBW Snagless Stitch Markers the BEST!
This is the third set of Spark JBW Snagless stitch markers that I've bought. Not only are they beautiful, regardless of which design you buy, but they are truly Snagless and so much nicer to look at than the Snagless plastic rings. Highly reccomend these!
