Depends what you do with it

Great colour selection, very little dye loss when washed even with bright red, excellent yardage. Makes a dense, hard-wearing fabric.
But... if you crochet with this, prepared to be driven insane by the yarn splitting, as it keeps catching on the hook. However, knitting with this with size 8 needles was easy because it glides over the needles.

Very good, but with a catch

This yarn is superb value with good yardage. I wanted a hard-wearing yarn for some crocheted tablemats. This yarn worked up into a solid, sturdy fabric. My only caveat: it's plied and braided a bit like a miniature shoelace. Using big needles/hooks is fine, but using smaller crochet hooks causes the yarn to catch and loop. Will buy again, but not for projects that need smaller size tools.

This yarn is superb value with good yardage. 210 yds for less than six bucks. Normally, I avoid nylons and acrylics but I wanted a hard-wearing yarn for a set of crocheted tablemats. This yarn worked up into a solid, sturdy fabric that was exactly what I wanted. My only caveat: it's plied and braided a bit like a miniature shoelace. Using big needles/hooks is fine, but using smaller crochet hooks greater than E causes the yarn to catch and loop like crazy. Will buy again, but not for projects that need smaller size tools.

Vintage style is back, finally, and this magazine is chock-a-block with stunning retro designs that will have you channeling your inner Lauren Bacall in no time! It's filled with patterns that would cost hundreds and thousands of dollars from the big design houses, but can be yours for the price of the yarn. There are some lovely teaching articles including: managing multiple projects, and choosing buttons. I'm a beginner but there are still patterns I can do. The rest just make me twitch to improve my skills! Get this magazine now! :

Eye candy, feels as good as it looks

I bought a test hank of 'Black Purl' for a pair of worsted-weight socks. It knitted beautifully into a dense, soft fabric in lovely lilac-purple-black stripes with a few hints of green and blue. It has uniform thickness and the plies are tightly wound except for one short length of yarn, which caused a single snag on my needles. Lovely yarn, gorgeous colours, will definitely buy again.
