Nice for quick, stranded hats, if knit tighter than suggested.

First, a big thanks to the folks at JimmyBeans, because their service was great on both of my orders for this yarn. The TML Triple Twist worked well for a new color work hat design of mine. I liked that it gave some hand dyed interest, while still presenting as a solid for the contrast needed for color work. I did have a bit of a scare, after briefly, gently, hand washing it and drying it in a stepped-on, rolled-up towel. Even though I had intentionally knit it at a worsted weight gauge for extra warmth, durability and sharp color work detail once wet, it lost all body and grew to be waaaaaaay too big for any human head. I know plenty of superwash yarns have this habit, but I thought this was extreme. Normally, I let my FOs dry flat, on a rack. When this hat still looked huge after several hours in a very dry climate, I tossed it in the dryer, on its own, circulating - not flat - and, thankfully, that bouncing around in the heat did the trick. It came back to exactly the finished measurements I had designed it for. My husband tried it on and loved its comfort so much that I made a second version, with him in mind. Same issue with the expansion, when wet, but after a good, long ride in the dryer, it's lovely. Some of you might think that's no problem at all maybe you always put your knits in the dryer? If so, pretend this is a five-star review. After all the work that goes into hand knits, I prefer to avoid the dryer - I think it's hard on fabrics and ages them prematurely. If this hat still looks great after several washings, maybe I'll come back and raise this to a five-star review but, if it wears out too quickly from the obligatory romps in the dryer, I'll have to drop this to 3 stars.
