How to Knit a Basic Bobble
Many people are frightened by the thought of knitting bobbles but there is really no reason to fear because they can be so simple to knit! There are many ways to knit a bobble. Jeanne shows us how to work a simple 4 stitch bobble.
- Knit up to where you want to work your bobble.
- Knit the next stitch but don't take it off the left-hand needle.
- Yarn forward and purl into this same stitch.
- Yarn back and knit into this same stitch again.
- Yarn forward and purl into this same stitch again.
- Now, finally slide the stitch off the left-hand needle.
- You have just created four stitches out of one stitch!
- Next, turn your work and purl those four stitches.
- Turn your work, k2tog twice.
- Turn, p2tog. You are now back to one stitch.
- Turn and slip the bobble stitch back to your right-hand needle.
- Knit your next stitch a little tighter than normal to secure your bobble and your done!
There you go! You've just knit a bobble! See, that wasn't so hard!
